about the peas..." this request comes EVERY NIGHT WE HAVE PEAS...so here goes...

back when i was in 7th grade, we lived with my grandma...there were 7 of us kids...i guess grandma wanted some quiet (i cannot imagine) so she sent us ALL outside...peggy and i didn't know what to do, so we wandered around to the side of the house where grandma's garden was...NOT that we were planning on eating those delicious peas straight out of the garden...NO WAY...we would have been in a lot of trouble! yeah, we were just going to go LOOK...we turn the corner...there is dad...with a HANDFUL of peas...he looks at us...we look at him...he said..."come eat some of these with me...and we won't tell grandma..." ohhh, those were the best peas in.the.whole.world....

ho! ho! ho! i am blogging again. i am kinda going to do this kinda weird. i am starting in august ...going into september. then go back and do july and june. something like that.

so, in august, we took a road trip to visit demarko's extended family in illinois. if you really want to know how i really feel about the trip, you need to call me, because i don't want the printed word to come back and haunt me.

on the way there, we only would only stop for gas, food and potty breaks. yup...with three kids that is all we stopped for. we got to BLUE EARTH MINNESOTA and i had demarko stop to see the jolly green giant. sonly sad thing, dillon was asleep. i think he would have enjoyed it.

so, the camera was broke...then i realized i could take pictures with it. we missed out on a lot of good photo ops with extended family. the next few are pictures we took on the way home.

this is jheriko and emmonie at the world famous CORN PALACE.  in case you are wondering, it is in MITCHELL S.D.  it was nice to let the kids out to run and allow demarko time to sleep in the van.

ok, this was NOT at the CORN PALACE. it is out of sequence. this is actually MT. RUSHMORE. bet you always thought it was bigger, hu? and a little less plastic looking. NOPE!

ok...back to the CORN PALACE.  that is one big ear of corn.

ok. i had a TON of pictures at WALL DRUG. the kids got to ride a jackalope, yada yada. for some reason, they did not download. maybe i will try again someday. don't hold your breath, i probably won't.

my big boy is all grown up. his first day of school was september 8. he was very brave. he did not cry. i didn't either. i was too busy smiling ant how grown up he acted.
this is jheriko and his friend SAMMY. it is good that they started together. i think that helped them both be brave!
yup...i stayed to see what was going on. there they are sitting down. he is so cute.

i caught dillon just sitting on the bed...reading of all things. maybe he has some helm in him after all....

when matt and britt came, we took a walk to the park. of course , you are seeing the pictures in backward order...

britt said she needed to get strong...so we put dillon on her back and went tromping through the woods...

blogging about hats, marie made jheriko a hat back a long time ago. the hat has now been passed down to dillon...who, i must say, looks adorable with it on...if only he would leave it on!

trying to get this blog to work for me. i try to download stuff, and if that works, then the layout is all wrong, and everything is messed up. i will try one more time. so, demarko sent some hats for the boys.

so jheriko has been taking karate for a couple months. it has been great fun watching him learn new skills...yup, my baby has skills. sorry i am not too good at the video-ing if his mAd skIlls.

this first one is a race the class did. i think i did the race in two segments, and just put the end of this most exciting race on the blog...

the next video is one of a race again...but where the kiddos jump over a little incline then roll...

now, be prepared to be amazed. this is where his mAd skIlls come into play.

ok...just trying to get this post set up....now i know why i don't post. i want to scream!!! i have already lost a photo. don't know where it went. the pictures are in just random order.

so, at christmas, three stakes in this area had a festival of the nativity. pictures were taken. the boys actually got to dress up as sheep. very cute. i thought more pictures would have been posted, but only one made the website. boo hoo.

well, there you go. things here are going ok. the boys are growing fast. love being a mom. demarko is now headed back to afghanistan after 14 days of leave. it was great to have hime home and feel like a wife again. at some point i may actually post pictures......

so, jheriko and i got wet with the sprinkler. we both went to change. he got striped down to his boxers...yes, my almost four year old boy wears boxers. SO CUTE...he was messing around,i didn't know what he was doing, so i asked him if his penis hurt. he said no, but, "my boxers have a hole in them." i told him they were made like that. he asked why. i told him so that when he had to go peeps, he didn't have to pull his boxers down. he ran to the bathroom, whipped out his you know what, and peed. "momma, it works!" moms are SO smart!

so, the other day, we went to a friend's house to play. jheriko got to jump on the trampoline. later, he and i were discussing the day and everything he got to do. he got to the part of playing at sarah jane's house and the tramp. "they can go real high,"talking about sarah jane and her older brother. i asked, "why do you think they can go real high?" his CLASSIC answer..."they got skills, momma."

demarko came home and realized he lost some important work-related stuff. we looked and looked. he called all the people who he had come in contact with. nothing. demarko was getting more and more frutrated. i asked him if he wanted to pray about it. he said he would find it. he then left to go to post to see if he could track it down. as soon as he left, i asked jheriko if he wanted to pray so dad could find his stuff. "sure," was his answer. i started off the prayer with thanks for the beautiful day, thanks for our family...i guss jheriko got tired of me "beating around the bush." he cut me off but saying,"daddy lost work things. help him find it." alright, out of the mouths of babes. when demarko got home, he still hadn't found it. demarko was still upset and not too happy. jheriko said, "don't worry, daddy, jesus got your stuff." a solider called the next day, saying he had it in his car.

going with dad to broulims in roberts to pick up some stuff. as we were checking out, he was offered a vhs. i guess broulims had a box full of the same videos they got for a promotional something. on the way home, dad and i plotted....we told mom that they were handing out free videos and we got to choose. the choices:anne of green gables OR greatest moments in sports history. we told her we thought she would like the greatest moments...mom was not too happy! i miss you, dad.

i allow jheriko to answer the phone. i let him talk to the telemarketers. i don't even try to get the phone from him. i figure if it was really that important, they would ask to speak to me. it's kinda funny to hear jher ask them how they are. he then carries on a conversation that i am sure they can't follow. i just sit back and smile! so yesterday, jheriko and i were on post. he kept looking at this girl (she looked to be about ten.) he asked me, "what she doing?" i told him i did not know. he asked if he could go see. he went over to her and asked, "how yer doing?" she just kinda smiled and shrugged her shoulders. jheriko came running back to me with a HUGE smile on his face, and said, "cousin tansy!" you know, she kinda did look like tansy.

What is your favorite comfort food, and what is your strongest memory tied to it?

as you probably know already...i like food. i love anything that is made with pasta, meat and tomato sauce. i can eat that anytime, especially if i am needing a little extra "love." i don't really have any memories tied to it.

i do LOVE vanilla ice cream. i do remember in japan, mom, peggy and lani always got to eat the chocolate. mike and dad ate the strawberry. i felt sorry for the vanilla. and because only i ate it...i got alot-or at least i didn't have to share.

What is your love story, how did you and your husband meet?

demarko and i met in texas. i was living about 30 miles from work and getting fed up with the commute. during christmas break, i moved a little closer to work. that sunday, in my new ward, i saw demarko. i thought he was kinda cute. we had insitiute or fhe or something. then the next week, it was cancelled. i got a call from demarko. he said he was calling everyone up to see how they were. later, i found out he only called me. by mid february, i couldn't get rid of him. he even came to school to bring me a valentine's present. i don't know. i think that is about it. i am glad we are married. i think sometimes he doesn't know what to do with me.

What are 10 things you are grateful for?

1.temples. i am grateful that demarko and i can be together forever.

2.adoption. i am thankful to beable to have jheriko. i love my little son-more each day.

3.books. i love to read and to be able to escape into another life-even for just a moment.

4.telephones. how great are they?

5.sunshine. i love feeling the sun on my face. i am even more grateful after living here. the few days of sunshine-nothing beats those after all the rain.

6.parks. i love going to the park with jheriko when the sun is out. all that fresh air is wonderful.

7.pictures. i love looking at pictures and remembering the past.

8.sight. i have always thought it would be horrible to be blind. i love seeing things in nature. i could not imagine not being able to see how jheriko changes.

9.demarko. kinda goes along with #1. he is good to me and for that i am thankful.

10. ok, ok, my brothers and sisters, my mom and dad. you guys are pretty great!

If you could live anywhere, where would you go?

i think if i could live anywhere, it would be in italy...if they spoke english...or if they humored me and let ME speak english. something like that. i love the weather, the weather and the weather. i also LOVE italian food. since that isn't gonna happen, i would live to live by the ocean. i love the smell of salt water.

i don't know. i don't think i have a hero. is that bad?

our neighbor just came by. he asked if he could take down our fence. he needs to get a truck to his backyard tomorrow. the only reasonable way is through where our fence is. in return for letting him tear down a fence that is almost falling apart, (1) he will replace the fence with new boards.. and basically make us a new fence (2) we can have wood from the two trees he is haveing cut down. he estimates it should be about two cords. we won't beable to use it this winter, but next winter...oh, did i mention (3) he will cut the wood for us? hummmm,should we let him do this????

That is what i hear. then jheriko starts counting. "ready not..here come." as i stay hidden in a good spot, i can hear jher say,"i found you.." "i found you..." "mommy, where are you?" i kinda help by saying.."jheriko, here i am." the laugh he gives when he finally finds me, is worth staying quiet. then it is his turn to hide. i have a litte easier time finding him...i just have to follow his giggle. if i don't find him in like ten seconds, he jumps out and yells, "i'm here, mommy. you find me."

he won't let me call him baby anymore. "i jheriko, mommy." last night, i got lucky. i was holding him, and i said, "where did my baby go?" jher said."i'm your baby, mommy." i cannot believe he will be a sunbeam next sunday.

on another note, i went to the gym today. i burnt 500 calories on the elipical thing! pretty impressive for this old woman!

Wrapping paper or gift bags? However you want to wrap my present is fine...I do like the plain tissue paper with alot of pretty ribbons!

Real tree or Artificial? We bought an artifical tree this year. Our first year, we bought a live potted tree. It died within three days. I think it was a conspiricy!

When do you put up the tree? We put this one up the day after thanksgiving.

Do you like eggnog? Like it? No! Love it???? YES!

Easiest person to buy for? Dad probably was. Just pick out a box of chocolate covered cherries...what? you say he didn't even like them? you've GOT to be kidding!

Do you have a nativity scene? Yes, mom and dad gave me the old, old one we had growing up. Baby Jesus with no arms, the angel with only half a face. I love it. We wanted to buy one in Germany, but with the exchange rate...

Mail or email Christmas cards? I usually don't do either. I did do some cards this year. They are stamped and ready to go. I just need to mail them...

Worst Christmas gift you ever received? Never had a worst gift...all have been pretty darn sweet, even when the twins (Twins?) would wrap up yarn glued to cardboard.

Best Christmas gift you ever received? One is the Barbie Townhouse! Peggy and I wanted it sooooo bad. When dad brought it down, wrapped in tissue paper, it was so hard to go to bed. Another one was when I got the photo album my senior year. Mom had placed her wedding photo in it. I felt very lucky .

Favorite Christmas movie? "Christmas Story."

When do you start shopping for Christmas? I start...um...um...after I um...mail the chistmas cards?

Have you ever recycled a Christmas present? Don't think so. I even ate the fruitcake Gwen sent me on my mission.

So, Pam told me i was the worst blogger. Is that a compliment? Wasn't too sure. i am almost positive it wasn't! Honestly, truely, not too much is going on at the WATSON home. we do basically the same thing day in and day out. Just so you know, Jheriko now stands to pee. Yup, that is probably the MOST exciting thing to happen here. Our Christmas tree is up. So excited. We are going to have Christmas at our home. This will be a first for Jheriko. His first Christmas was in Berlin...that was fun. His second was at Aunt Pams...that was fun??No, really, it was fun. His third was at Garmisch...THAT was fun ...in the Alps, going swimming everyday. i think, though, it is about time to start some traditions. I am going to try to add some photos. They are of Jher earning his keep!

so, yesterday was a big day. after going to the gym...yes, i am still going! so, after going to the gym, jheriko and i headed off to a meeting to evaluate his speech. when i took him in to one of his drs. appointment, the dr. said his speech sounded delayed. i took him in to child find. he excelled in everything, except one area. in fact, he was scoring as a mid 5year old in some areas! so, this appointment was to test in the area that was "low." there was a couple people on the team that was going to evaluate him. after looking at pictures and having jher point and tell what was going on, building towers, putting a teddy bear to sleep and feeding said bear, they finished the tests and said they didn't know why they had him come back. i do go back..i think next week, to get the formal evaluation report. gut feeling?? jheriko is just fine. the evaluator said he talks fast...humm. i remenber people saying i used to talk fast. maybe it's genetic? just kidding. maybe i still talk fast and he picked up on that because he is with me all the time.

ok...this is so totally true, i couldn't even make this up if i tried. i just started going to the gym...meaning monday should have been my first day, but the boiler that heats the childcare room was down, so i just went on wednesday and today. wednesday, i worked on the lower body. not too hard. in fact, i don't think i was even really sore. so today, i worked on the upper body..yikes! there is alot of upper body for me to work on! no joke. anyway, and this is want all you helm people to pay attention to, the trainer said i have great body awareness and that my body is very athletic. that's right, you read it right. so there! out of shape and getting older, and now i am being told this stuff!

ok, i know the pictures are old, but i think that is ok. it kinda helps to tell the story. last night...or actually this morning...at about 3am, jheriko woke up and said he had to go potty. i turned right over in bd, "pretending" i didn't hear him. he continued to tell me he had to go potty. why can't he just wet the bed and let me change it in the morning???? that's ok, i helped him on the toilet, he went...with his eyes closed, and now he is back in bed-dry. and i am wide awake!

right now, i have a batch of peanutbutter cookies in the oven. demarko is sleeping on the couch. he has gone into work at 330am the last two days. sunday, he came home at 730pm. jheriko is eating chocolate chips...yes, we put them in everysingle cookie recipe we do. jher then gets to eat a hand full of chips. nothing really too exciting is gong on. it has been freezing all day. i am going to try to add some pictures-don't hold your breath.....i may not be able to figure it out.

ok, i was able to upload one photo. now, i need to figure out how to mke it fit. this is, of course, jheriko. i think he is beautiful.

oh, i get it, i can choose, large, medium or small. that's a picture of jheriko and his grandma robbin (demarko's mom) and his grandma fran (demarko's grandma). yes, it was taken at easter time. ok, i guess that is it for now. thanks, kate!
